The Babbacombe Theatre are putting out a call to all talented young ladies who aspire to perform, to attend an audition for this season festive production, A Wonderful Christmas Time, which opens on Wednesday 30th October and will run weekly until 1st January 2020. They are looking for dancers aged 15+ who are strong in all aspects of dance that preferably can sing well to.
The auditions will be held at the Babbacombe Theatre on Wednesday 4th September at 5.30pm (Registration at 5pm).
All dancers wishing to attend the audition MUST have experience in ballet, tap, modern, jazz and lyrical. Routines will be set by the shows Choreographer; Sadie Jane Beer and all these styles will be incorporated into those routines. Auditionees will need to bring their own dance shoes and dressed in suitable attire. The production team will cast dancers between 5ft 2ins -5ft 9ins.
It is preferred the dancers have a good singing voice and those wishing to audition are invited to sing if they choose to do so, although it is not essential and those opting not to sing, please note, this will not affect your chance of being cast. Those wanting to sing will need to provide their own backing tracks.
Please be aware that those dancers still in full time education and aged under 16 years will need to be licenced by their respective local council and will require written confirmation from their school for authorised absences. Students in College will need authorisation, albeit are not needed to register with the council for a performance licence. There are eight weekly matinee performances that fall during the academic term, every Wednesday. Some of the rehearsal’s dates also fall during term time. On most weeks there will be an evening performance as well as the matinee. In total there are 20 performances which include Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Those who wish to audition will be required to fill in a registration form, which can be completed at the audition. However, they are available for collection from the Box Office, beforehand.
