The Babbacombe Theatre under the ownership of Colin Matthews has built a reputation for consistently producing 5 star shows. Now also able to boast that it is ranked as Torquay’s Number 1 ‘Things To Do’ on TripAdvisor, the venue and its management team are dedicated to maintaining that status, by ensuring that they have the best of local talent on the Babbacombe boards. Therefore, it is vital when a show is cast that the right people are selected, so the standard expected by the theatre’s audiences is met.
The venue is putting out a call for talented young men, who have a strong singing voice, can move well, are preferably aged between 18-25 years old and are 5ft 5” or above to audition for this season’s forthcoming show, I Love Music.
The show will open on Thursday 7th May and will run every Thursday at 8.15pm until 8th October inclusive, with a matinee performance on Thursday 17th September at 2.30pm. There will be 24 performances in total and all interested applicants would need to be available for not only every performance, but all day every day for the rehearsal period, Thursday 30th April to opening night on the 7th May.
This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring performer, to gain experience of professional theatre and learn his craft working alongside a professional and talented cast, who not only have performed in London’s West End but have television experience too.
The audition will be held at the Babbacombe Theatre on Sunday 19th January at 1pm. Registration is from 12.45pm. All those auditioning will need to be prepared to sing two songs and should bring their own backing tracks.
