Bale’s Buddies Community Outreach & Fundraising Event Saturday 17th Sept

Bale’s Buddies Community Outreach, a not-for-profit organisation, provides animal assisted therapeutic support to the local community.

We reach out to venues across the community as well as on an individual basis, tailoring bespoke therapy sessions to help enrich lives and supporting people to re-engage with society.

Our venues include nursing homes, hospitals, schools, libraries, youth clubs, café, additional needs provisions, end of life care and many more. Some of our services include accompanying to appointments (doctors/hospitals, social worker meetings, etc.), emotional support through deep pressure therapy, combating loneliness, support when completing work, etc., agility with leading dogs through agility courses, games and bonding, general training and obedience, etc.

Therapy dogs are known to provide many benefits, including decreases in anxieties, communication and confidence building, independence, self-harming decreases, enhancing people’s lives and helping them to integrate back into society.

Our community dogs are Bale, Grace, Arthur, Mabel, Ben and Bertie, all with different personalities to suit your needs. Our sessions will be 1 hour long but can be booked in blocks up to 3 hours at a time to allow breaks for the dogs. We can discuss the requirements of the sessions and select the therapy dog/s most suitable. All staff are fully DBS checked and insured to carry out our services.

We are holding a 5/10km Fun Run and Walk on Saturday 17th September 2022 to raise funds for the new Community Outreach organisation, which have just launched tickets for.

It is at Decoy Country Park, Decoy Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 1EB.
