Flock is a new concept from the long-established Devon management company, Parke Interiors Limited. It’s a creative hub, bringing together some of the South West’s top artists, designers and therapists, to share their skills in a range of bespoke courses and workshops.
The seasonally-based events cater for small groups in the idyllic rural setting of a country house on the edge of Dartmoor. They take place at various dates throughout the year.
Flock is the brainchild of leading businesswoman, commercial and residential interior designer Nikki Hemstock, who has many years ‘experience in the industry. She was previously co-director of the locally-based JSA design and build company and has an impressive client list including: The Conran Shop; Hoopers Department Stores; Osprey London; Oliver Sweeney and Orvis, to name but a few.
Nikki aims not only to share her passion for design, but to empower others to create stunning, nurturing spaces.
The courses are personally run by Nikki and take place over a five-week period. They are aimed at anyone who is interested in home decorating with either a specific project in mind, or simply a desire to explore and develop their individual style, along with students who want an insight into the role of the interior designer.
There’s also a course for children to sample interior decoration by creating their own, unique, bedroom space; plus one-off workshops throughout the year to bring seasonal decorative changes into your home.
Our workshops are run by a diverse group of highly-respected artists and makers. The tutors have been carefully-selected for their expertise, passion and body of work, so that you can be assured you are learning from the very best practitioners.
All making workshops will be centred on the rituals of the home and include floristry, ceramics, textiles, writing, sketching, food and foraging, well-being, and plenty more to inspire your own creativity.
A gracious country house set in stunning grounds on the outskirts of Bovey Tracey, with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside towards Haytor. The property is a few minutes drive from the A38 Devon Expressway/South Devon Highway.
Ample parking is available.
Our first event will be a festive workshop on December 17th, when talented florist Sarah Hill, will demonstrate how to make a ‘wild and wonderful Christmas wreath’, with seasonal plants gathered from the garden. Using a woven willow base, you will learn how to use and shape foliage and dried flowers, and employ wiring and decorative techniques to create a statement piece.
In the afternoon, we will be helping you to take your Christmas gift-giving to a whole new level. We will guide you through the art of contemporary present wrapping, using a combination of natural papers, foliage and hand-finished embellishments.
The course fee includes: All materials, lunch, mince pies and mulled wine. All you need to bring along are wellies and up to three medium-sized gifts to wrap
What better way to add a beautiful, personal touch to your home and gifts this Christmas?
