A huge weekend of live music at The Ropemakers on 15th – 17th July

An exciting weekend of live music is happening at The Ropemakers in Bridport on July 15th – 17th, featuring national and international performers.

This award-winning small music venue has always punched well above its size with many name acts performing over more than a decade, and the July programme is a testament to its reputation to attract diverse and original artists.

On Friday 15th July the venue will host a rare appearance from the Davey Malone and Hannah Johns duo. Renowned artists in their own right – Hannah as fiddle player with folk rock band The Leylines and Davey as front man of festival legends Hobo Jones & The Junkyard Dogs – the pair also combine for occasional gigs combining their own material, folk and trad classics and some choice cover versions!

Saturday 16th sees US singer-songwriter Carsie Blanton hit Bridport as part of a short UK tour including the nearby Tolpuddle Partyrs Festival. A dynamic, witty and extremely engaging performer, Carsie brings her audience together in joyful celebration of everything worth fighting for.

On Sunday 17th acclaimed US artist Crys Matthews will star at the venue’s acoustic afternoon, starting at 4pm. Crys is also in the UK to play the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival, so her appearance at a small pub venue is something of a coup for The Ropemakers. Her recent album has been getting major attention and the ‘Changemakers’ track recently won Song Of The Year at the International Folk Music Awards.

All three gigs are free entry with Friday and Saturday music beginning at 9.30pm and Sunday at 4.00pm.

These gigs are a collaboration with West Country promoters Fuelled By Cider.
