Registration is now open for Rowcroft Hospice’s totally awesome 1980s-themed Sleep Walk, taking place on Saturday 9 July.

All What’s On South Devon readers who sign up online before 29 February will receive an exclusive discount to South Devon’s biggest girls’ night out, securing their place for only £12, instead of the usual £15 full ticket price.

Ladies over ten-years-old are urged to pump up their shoulder pads and sign up as soon as possible, as the hugely popular ladies-only night walk has sold out in record time for the last two years running.

Daniel Robson, Rowcroft’s Events Manager, said: “This year’s walk promises to be a night to remember with laughter, music, friends and some amazing 80’s surprises along the way!”

Ladies who sign up will have to get into the groove to complete their choice of either five or ten mile routes that start and finish at Torbay Leisure Centre.

Karen Mason, who has completed every Sleep Walk since her sister was cared for at Rowcroft in 2009, said: “By signing up to take part in this fantastic event you’ll be helping local families to receive the same care my sister did at Rowcroft.

“The atmosphere on the night will be electric; you’ll make new friends, catch up with old ones, laugh, make brilliant memories (and maybe ache the next day)! But, most of all, you’ll be doing something amazing for people living in your community who really need your help.”

Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit Manager, Sue Harvey, added: “The Sleep Walk is an amazing event that sees thousands of ladies, volunteers, local businesses and Rowcroft staff members come together to support families across South Devon who are facing life-limiting illnesses and need our help.”

All those who sign up for the event are asked to raise as much in sponsorship as possible to help the hospice reach its all-time Sleep Walk fundraising total of £1million.

Sue added: “Every penny you raise will help us to support local families in your town to make the most of every day they have together. Our fundraising total from all Sleep Walks over the last five years stands at £863,252, please help us reach that amazing £1million target in 2016!”
