HOSPICE PREPARES FOR FOAMY FUN AT BUBBLE RUSH NEXT WEEKEND

HOSPICE PREPARES FOR FOAMY FUN AT BUBBLE RUSH NEXT WEEKEND

Rowcroft Hospice is preparing for a day of foamy fun and bubbly-madness at its new family-friendly sponsored 5k, the Bubble Rush, which takes place at Torbay Velopark next Saturday 9 September.

More than 750 people have signed up to take part in the hospice’s inaugural bubblicious event, which is open to all aged over three-years old.

Online registration for the event will remain open until Sunday 3 September, with adult places available for £20, children (aged 3-16) £8 and families £40.

After that the hospice will have a limited number of places available for anyone who decides to join in the frothy antics on the day. Adult on-the-day registration will cost £25 and £12 for children.

Daniel Robson, Rowcroft’s Events Manager, said: “We are really looking forward to this fantastically frothy new Rowcroft event and are thrilled that so many hundreds of people and families are preparing to join us for the Bay’s bubbliest 5k!”

The foamy fun will begin at 11am with music from The Breeze and a selection of food and drinks stalls from local caterers.

Daniel explained: “The Bubble Rush promises to be a full day of fun for the whole family, with the 5k route itself smooth, flat and easy, making it perfect for running, dancing, or even toddling around – for our younger participants.”

James Twigger, Director of Accounting4Everything, Bubble Rush sponsor, added: “I have a long-established personal relationship with Rowcroft, as both a volunteer and a supporter over the years.

“Accounting4Everything are very proud to be able to support this fun, new event and look forward to the team running the Bubble Rush together.”

The registration fee paid by each entrant covers the event’s running costs, while the hospice asks that families raise as much in sponsorship as possible to help local families living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon to share precious time together.

Rachael Bryett, Rowcroft’s Fundraising Manager, said: “Every pound raised by our Bubble Rush participants will make a huge difference to Rowcroft and the services we provide for thousands of local people every year.

“We are focussed on securing the future of hospice care in South Devon to ensure we can make every moment the best it can be for patients and their families for generations to come. We thank all those taking part and supporting next weekend’s event for their generosity.”

An army of 80 volunteers will also be helping the hospice with the running of the Bubble Rush. Daniel has a special message of thanks: “Without the efforts of our amazing volunteers Rowcroft simply would not be able to run such a bursting calendar of events. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all those generously donating their time to the Bubble Rush next weekend; we are looking forward to a very unique weekend of frothy, foamy, bubbly fun!”

Don’t miss out on the fun! You can still sign up for the Bubble Rush until Sunday 3 September at www.rowcrofthospice.org.uk/bubble-rush or on-the-day at Torbay Velopark, Penwill Way, Paignton.
