What’s On Magazine Artist of the Year! – The High Kings

logoCongratulations to the High Kings for being awarded What’s On Magazines Artist of the Year.  Every year at What’s On you can imagine the amount of artists that we see and review.  The criteria for the award is – audience interaction, atmosphere, musical ability, performance and camaraderie within the group which in most bands is the missing instrument.  The quality of their live shows are outstanding and from the whole concept to creation for a brilliant evening is where the band play to the audience not to themselves.   Also the ability to captivate the audience in the smallest bar to the largest stadium.  The High Kings have all this in abundance and more.  These guys are without doubt one of the best acts I have ever seen from the Emerald Isle.  Everybody who comes to every gig feels that bit better about life themselves upon hearing their music.

Congratulations to the High Kings!  Here is a little insight into this incredible collection of Irish Gentlemen.

7d92c38cddc84a61bed8e27607f40bb7THE HIGH KINGS, the true heirs of Ireland’s folk heritage, will embark on an extensive Irish Tour in over 20 towns and cities North and South of the country during the Christmas and New Year period.

The band have spent the majority of 2015 touring in the USA and their most recent Tour was a sell-out coast-to-coast. In September, The High Kings joined the ranks of the very few Artists to perform live in The Pentagon, in Washington D.C. as special guests to the retiring Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin E. Dempsey, who is a huge fan of the band.

The band will perform all the live favourites from years past and also some brand new additions to the set. As always, The High Kings deliver a high-octane, family-friendly and hugely-entertaining experience!

Speaking from their Dublin HQ, Brian Dunphy from the band  said ‘2015 was a hugely significant year for us in the USA, but there is no question that our Irish fans hold a very dear place in our hearts, and we are looking forward to seeing each and every one of them, young and old, in December and January’.
